Cupcakin' Omakase

A dessert omakase — fifteen guests, one featured chef, coursed and sweet-forward, built so the chef is the reason people came.

What it is. Cupcakin' Omakase is a coursed dessert tasting for fifteen guests, scored live by a DJ and served to a room wearing wireless headphones. It is produced and hosted by Cupcakin' Bake Shop. Every edition features a different chef — the format stays the same, the talent changes. It is not a fee-for-hire engagement; it is a platform, a stipend, and a night built to make you look like the reason people came.
Sweet leads. The coursed service is sweet-forward and stays that way. Savory is welcome inside it as pairing or contrast, but no course should read as a savory course. If your work is savory-led, the opening is your seat — and it is a real one.
Open call. We cast editions on a rolling basis. Tell us when you're available and we'll come back to you about the slot that fits — the next one or a later one. This takes about ten minutes.
Seat One
Featured chef

Builds and presents the four coursed desserts. The edition carries your name. You are on mic, in-headphone, introducing each course to a silent room. You bring your own kitchen hands.

Seat Two
Hors d'oeuvre chef

Owns the opening — an intimate bite for six VIP guests before doors, then passed hors d'oeuvres for the whole room through the mingle hour. Savory leads here. All prep is front-loaded. Credited on the edition, though not in the title.

SECTION ONEWhich seat

Both are paid the same stipend and both are real work. Pick honestly — a savory-led chef in the wrong seat helps nobody.

SECTION TWOAbout you

SECTION THREEYour food

Not your resume — what it tastes like and what it's trying to do.
Select all that apply. Savory-led is not a no — it points to the opening seat.
Sweet leads throughout. Tell us how you'd use savory in support — pairing, contrast, cutting the sweetness. Skip if you're applying for the opening seat.
Passed food needs to travel on a tray, hold for an hour, and be eaten standing. The VIP bite is one idea for six people, served close and unamplified. Skip if you're applying to be featured.
Upcoming pop-ups, a residency, a restaurant, a menu, photos — anywhere we can experience it firsthand.

SECTION FOURExperience

Tell us what and where. If you haven't, say so — it isn't disqualifying.
The featured chef introduces every course in-headphone to a silent room. Comfort talking matters as much as the food.

SECTION FIVEYour story

How you got here, what shaped how you cook, why this food and not other food. Guests hear this in the room, so write it the way you'd say it.

SECTION SIXLogistics

Services run Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings. Some editions use all three.
Platers, prep, additional cooks. Our team runs the floor and passes the food; your pass is yours to staff.

SECTION SEVENFit

Each chef receives an ingredient stipend capped at $300 per service, agreed in writing before you develop anything. Alongside it: billing on the edition, a full edited photo and video set from the night that's yours to use however you want, and your story told to a room that paid to hear it.
Cupcakin' Omakase is owned and produced by Cupcakin' Bake Shop. Editions are billed as “Cupcakin' Omakase featuring [your name],” with your name at equal visual weight. Your recipes, techniques, and brand stay entirely yours, and you approve anything using your name, likeness, or work. Terms are agreed in writing before any menu development begins.
Answer honestly. Exposure, testing a concept, building toward your own place — all good answers, and it helps us build the edition around what you actually need.
